CONTINUING EDUCATION


Seminar Classes

  1. Attendance at NRF, ASLET, IMRA, IACP, ASIS, CFE or other professional conferences deemed appropriate by the Advisory Committee of CISA - 6 credits per conference (limit 18 credits).
  2. Seminars on interview and interrogation - 1 credit per hour attended with a certificate of completion.
  3. College credits in the field of investigations, interviewing, interrogation, or other related courses will be reviewed for potential credits by the Advisory Committee.
  4. Organizational Meetings that deal with the topics of Interviewing, Interrogating or Investigations. Senior management will be required to signoff on the agenda to be submitted for approval. The Advisory Committee will review the agenda and notify you as to what qualifies for Continuing Education Credit towards your re-certification.

Articles

  1. Each interview or interrogation article published in recognized professional, Police, Loss Prevention, or Security related magazine - 8 credits.
  2. Each Textbook on interview and/or interrogation published - 20 credits.
  3. Contributions to articles, texts or web based rarticles, such as the CFInsider, will be reviewed for potential credits by the Advisory Committee.

Presentations

  1. An instructor on the topic of interview and/or interrogation at a conference, company meeting, or another CISA approved organization? will be reviewed for potential credits by the Advisory Committee.
  2. Instructor of interview and/or interrogation at an accredited college or university - 2 credits per hour (limit 12).

Miscellaneous
  1. Submission of 10 acceptable questions for the CFI Examination (Contact CISA for the item writing format and booklet - 5 credits. See details here.
  2. Retake the CFI Examination and successfully pass - 24 credits.
  3. Both the Criminal Justice and the Private sector now give 3 semester credit hours, (graduate level 500 series) for passing the Certified Forensic Interviewer examination.
  4. Both the Criminal Justice and the Private sector now give 3 semester credit hours, (graduate level 500 series) for passing the Certified Forensic Interviewer examination. See details here.
