"The goal of this exam is two-fold," explains Mike Keenan, Director of Loss Prevention for Meryvns and chairman of the LP council for the National Retail Federation. "First, to make sure candidates understand the fundamentals of interviewing. That means knowing suspects' rights and what an interviewer can and can't do. Second, they should know the basic investigative steps that lead to the highest success rates, such as preparation, how to use evidence, and certain interviewing techniques."

If you do not pass the examination, you may schedule an examination appointment by contacting AMP at www.goAMP.com or 1-888-519-9901 and paying a $200 re-examination fee. There is a sixty day waiting period between examination attempts. Individuals are limited to three attempts per year to pass the CFI Examination.

The Certified Forensic Interviewer (CFI) designation issued by the Center for Interviewer Standards & Assessment, Ltd. (CISA) indicates the certificate holder possesses the knowledge necessary to pass CISA's rigorous examination.
